For everyone who may be confused by the ever shifting landscape that is College Football these days. Here is a good summary of where we stand right now.
With the PAC 12 only having 4 teams left in 2024 it seems like it is probably the end for that conference. I believe the new rankings of conferences will be:
Big Ten
SEC
Big 12
ACC (there is thoughts this may be the next conference to fall)
Mountain West (if they pick up some of the remaining PAC schools)
American
The Rest.
What are your thoughts?
Woke up this morning to the ACC reportedly taking Cal, Stanford and SMU. This will leave the Pac 12 with only Oregon State and Washington State.
I think the best option for those 2 schools will be to join the Mountain West. This officially I believe erases any ability of the PAC to rebuild by absorbing another conference.
What are your thoughts?

Oooh. Putting B1G over SEC May be tough to agree with. They are certainly larger and will pay their teams more but we continue to see the top tier of the SEC just manhandle teams. But remove BAMA/UGA and OSU/UM from the mix, then your next tier of competition is LSU/UF/OuT vs PSU/MSU/ORE. I don't believe the new B1G teams push the needle in competition but certainly present larger brands to leverage higher tv deals.
Moving to the ACC, FSU is making its point very loudly that they feel slighted. Clemson isn't as vocal but surely is a packaged deal and glad that someone is trying to stir the pot and maybe break the ACC contract for the rest to follow. I personally think it should just happen (or at least FSU pays the exorbitant bill to do so) and let's find an end to all this realignment.
Selfishly, I'd like some of the ACC to move to the B12 so UCF would have some better geographical rivals to play. Pipe dream is Miami and marquee that rivalry for Thanksgiving weekend each year like FSU/UF does already. Much easier to make that trip for the long weekend than going to Houston.
Mountain West was already knocking at AAC's door as the best G5 conference. I think with the top 3 AAC in the B12 now, the rankings have already changed even without the PAC combining with MWC. But if they do, it would make the MWC way more marketable and should earn them a better tv contract.
As for the rest, I shall take a rest and open discussion to the rest of you.
